MARKETING INTERN

Marketing Internship Duties This experience will give you the opportunity to understand how a sports business operates and runs on a day to day basis, while giving you the valuable hands on experience of doing it yourself. Understanding the dynamics of being on the ground floor for a new sports organization will only enhance your professional experience.

  • Assist in the development of a structured new business marketing plan
  • Aiding in the design and development of marketing strategies and materials
  • Involvement and input into weekly marketing meetings

  • Implementing, tracking and refining marketing strategies
  • Collecting quantitative and qualitative data from our marketing campaigns.
  • Performing market analysis and research on league teams and competition
  • Supporting the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Conduct industry research, present findings to management.
  • Help respond to customer/client inquiries
  • Assist in writing copy for clients or sponsors

TICKET SALES INTERN

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about gaining first-hand experience in the sports industry with a dynamic and inspired team. This seasonal role will start July, 2018, and conclude the end of February, 2019.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TICKET SALES INTERN:

As a Ticket Representative, a large part of your success will come by using sales and service best practices, prospecting, networking, lead generation, referral gathering, data capture and database management. This will include establishing and executing programs associated with a first year organization. More specifically, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Solicit new season, group and individual ticket business by telephone.
  • Follow up with potential prospects in a timely manner
  • Handle, coordinate and service all incoming requests for ticket information
  • Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities
  • Participate in sales meetings and training sessions
  • Manage sales tables during home games
  • Provide a superior level of customer service and hospitality to all ticket holders
  • Contribute positively to the team's culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You may be a fit for this role if you meet the following criteria:
  • A real passion for sports marketing and/or a career in sales
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills
  • Excellent teammate, with positive energy, who has a desire to learn
  • Ability to work quickly in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Strong work ethic
  • Sales experience, although not required, is very useful

SOCIAL & DIGITAL MEDIA INTERN

SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Updates Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts and responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions.
  • Keep team news and announcements current using appropriate content from the weekly game.
  • Updates social media accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from SF City Cats, games, activities and events. Helps grows team online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions.
  • Completes other social media projects as assigned.
  • Regularly observes the online activity of model organizations researches and reports on “social media best practices”.
  • Uses Google Analytics and Facebook Insights to assess trends and activity on the City Cats website.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, basic photo-editing software, and internet browsers. Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
  • Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Google+.
