Head Coach Resigns

Head Coach Lawrence "Doc" Holiday resign amidst turmoil in Front Office.

The City Cats had been in continuous contract negotiations with the Head Coach for several weeks when the negotiations turned all bad after the General Manager and Head Coach could not agree to disagree and move forward past their differences.

The City Cats are coming off of a fantastic undefeated season in their first year as an ABA team, also winning the Far West Division Championship over the Orange County Nova Stars. The season was ended with a snow storm in Denver that prevented the City Cats from making it to the ABA Finals in St Luis this past season. 

The City Cats have announced Assistant Coach Curtis Webster as the new Head Coach going into this next season. Coach Webster brings a tremendous amount of experience as a coach and a player.

The Oakland native believes that although coach Holiday was a great coach for the City Cats there are some things that can be added to the already successful team.

The City Cats are looking to repeat the success of last year with key players returning for a second season. With the addition of several new players the City Cats will be just as talented and dominating as last year.

The City Cats wish the best of luck to Coach Holiday as he was the center piece of last years team and we will forever be thankful for all he did....states Team Owner Mike Steadman
